Naomi R. Johnson
Hey, thanks for checking out Clean Energy YOLO! My name is Naomi and I run this blog when I’m not bogged down with schoolwork. Right now, I’m studying computer science at the University of San Francisco. It’s always been my dream school, and I’m excited to reach all of my career goals. Right now, I really want to become a video game developer. I’ve already had a hand in developing games for all different kinds of electronics. I hope to make more of a name for myself in the industry!
Electronics & Security
So, why is my blog centered around electronics and security? In my opinion, the general public doesn’t really understand just how powerful some of these devices are. Even video game consoles collect way more information about us than we’d think. Growing up, I shared a little too much information about myself on the Internet. Eventually, some of my online friends found my phone number and began regularly calling my house. At the time, I had no idea how they found my number. Now that I’m older, I know that it’s all too easy to find someone’s contact information online.
Naturally, my parents were horrified. They thought my friends were online predators who were posing as kids. It took a lot of convincing and explaining, but they eventually understood that they were kids, just like me. Ever since then, though, I began to take security a lot more seriously. Sure, I was safe this time – but what if my contact info had really fallen into the wrong hands? Unfortunately, this is the kind of attitude we should still have today, perhaps more than ever.
I really want to educate my readers that technology can be a double-edged sword. It’s fun to use, convenient, and educational. But we need to protect ourselves, too. If you want to learn more, send me an email! We could talk about our own personal experiences with technology and security.
